Got My Flu Shot

I got my flu shot for the second time yesterday. I had my first vaccine last June 2010. Thanks to Department of Health for giving free vaccination and of course, to Nursing Service Department who made it possible here in the workplace. All employees were informed about the said free vaccination.

After several hours, my arm felt numb from getting the vaccine shot. I felt pain whenever I tried to move up my left arm. They said that it's pretty normal to feel numbness. Last night, I'm not feeling well. But still I managed to come to work today. But later this afternoon, I'm not feeling well again. I feel weak and have symptoms of common fever. I don't want to take any medication.

I only hope that the pain on my left arm and the flu-like symptoms will disappear soon.

A(H1N1) Vaccine

According to wiki.answers.com; A(H1N1) is similar to Swine flu. Swine influenza (swine flu) is caused by type A influenza virus and gives pigs the flu. Swine flu viruses cause regular outbreaks of flu in pigs but death is infrequent. The viruses may circulate among pigs throughout the year, but most outbreaks occur during the late fall and winter months similar to outbreaks in humans. The classical swine flu virus (an influenza type A H1N1 virus) was first isolated from a pig in 1930.

Last Friday afternoon, we were informed that there is an ongoing free A(H1N1) Vaccination at the Conference Room near Chief Nurse's Office. We got a free shot of A(H1N1) Vaccine that day and we're glad that we have protection against the H1N1 and seasonal flu especially now that the rainy season is already here in which our skin is prone to infections during this weather.

Dove Beauty Bar

Last week I had a skin irritation and have no idea what caused the rash. The itchiness kept on and  I'm just thinking it might be a food allergy from the grilled chicken I ate a week ago. I consulted a dermatologist in the out-patient section of the hospital and was informed that my skin get irritated due to harsh ingredients of papaya soap I used for month. Dra. Sandejas told me that I have a dry sensitive skin and told me to stop using the papaya soap instead she advised me to use the Dove soap for my sensitive skin.

I went to a grocery store and bought Dove soap for me to use it every now and then. I preferred the Dove Pink Beauty Bar. It is a specially formulated cleanser containing 1/4 moisturising cream. It helps skin retain its natural moisture, bringing out its softness and true beauty without leaving skin dry like soaps can. Dove Pink Beauty Bar is pH neutral and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

My skin feels really refreshed and glowing since I started using Dove Pink Beauty Bar. It leaves my skin  feeling smooth and soft.

Running

Running is a great form of aerobic exercise that burns a lot of calories. It helps ensure the efficient flow of blood and oxygen throughout the body, things that are proven to help to decrease the risk of a heart attack. It is also a great stress reliever. You must simply step out your door and get going.

Charisse, Jasmin and I ran almost 4k yesterday at the back of SM Fairview. It was an exciting adventure for me because it was my first time joining with them jogging around. At first I thought it was as easy and simple but after a two rounds of running and brisk walking I felt dizziness. Then I walked slowly until we had finished the third round. Then, we had great dinner at Jasmin's residence and savored the beef caldereta cooked by her mother. At 9:00pm Charisse and I headed home.

Despite of the body ache I felt after the strenuous activity we had, I really enjoyed it.. Until next time.

Younger Looking

Whenever someone asks me how old I am, I'd always tease them to guess my age. I've been hearing a lot of  people saying I'm on my early twenties. When they'd told me I'm twenty-one (21) years old, I gave them my sweetest smile and just nodded. I was overjoyed and felt better knowing that I look younger on my age and a lot of people couldn't figure out what's my exact age. Sometimes I don't revealed what's exactly my age unless they really wanted to know.

I don't have any secret formula used in order to look younger. I just continue to smile and be optimistic even sometimes failures and disappointment enveloped me. I preferred foods that are less cholesterol and tried to eat more natural foods and avoid junk foods as much as I could. I'm not chocolate lover or any sweet foods like ice cream, cake and more. That's also one of the reasons why I'm still in good shape and in normal weight.

I once read in news update that people who look young for their age live longer than those who don't wear so well. It really inspired me to be more health and lifestyle conscious knowing that younger looking could contribute to the wellness of our physical being.
