5-Year Milestone Anniversary

Today is July 05, 2011. I'm celebrating my five (5) year service anniversary here in the company. I utter words of praise and thanksgiving for the privileges and opportunities God put into my hands. I'd realized how my life has been changed since the first time I entered this workplace.

It wasn't my first job. I could say that I have skills and knowledge to do the job. It doesn't mean that there is no things to be improved on my craft. I'm open to new ways of  improving myself and developing self-confidence. Learning is an endless thing as long as you're eager to do so. It would enhance our skills and abilities to be in a right track of our profession. And of course, for our own personal growth and development. Sometimes we learn through the smooth way. Sometimes, at the opposite side. But whatever it may be, we should open our eyes to the good lessons it may bring to our life. Failures and mistakes are ingredients to success. We can't fully appreciate the crown and taste the sweetness of success if we haven't experienced trials and have been bruised and wounded by the battles of life. We should always remember that God is always there guiding us and loving us for what we truly are in spite of our imperfection.

I love doing my job. It's my bread and butter. It gives me sense of gratification and satisfaction. And in today's unstable economy wherein a lot of people having a hard time in getting a job, I am really blessed. Even though the routine of my job often is monotonous. Thank you, Lord for the opportunity to work and through this grace I would become a better person you want me to be.

Unfavorable Days is Coming

Earlier this morning, when I heard from a personnel of Comptroller's Office that the processing of payroll for all employees will be implemented based on HRIS (Human Resources Information System) by the end of this December, the first thing that came into my mind was the toxic job coming soon.
Why I call it toxic job? It is because the said program has no perfect end result up to this time despite of several years spent on solving the problem. The programmer has really a hard time in making the HRIS perfectly organized or with less error. As a result, we at HRD suffer on the imperfection of the system. For sure, many workload will be added to us and we have to work double time especially starting today that one of our office colleagues is on maternity leave and has no reliever yet. Being one of the responsible and trusted office staffs here in the department, I'm handling now the usual workload left by our on-leave office colleague. So I have to work very hard  and do multitasking to get more work done and meet deadlines.

It's really a big challenge for me that I have to accept and give my very best to do the job. I already put my trust in God that He will give me physical strength, knowledge and wisdom to fulfill the tasks and responsibilities expected of me. "So help me God."

As Busy as a Bee

I'm as busy as a bee this week, a lot of things to do. I'm bombarded with a lot of paperwork on my desk. I have to finish encoding the monthly schedules of the employees and the request for change of office hours. I also have to edit the powerpoint presentation for the seminar to be presented next week. And still I do have a sort of little assignment on my pending folder right now. Even if I really wanted to blog about my previous happenings and have some blog hopping I can't because I have to prioritize things. For the meantime, I have to leave the blogging world. I'm just hoping that next week I could take some time to make it up.

Emotional Roller Coaster

I'm having an emotional roller coaster feeling right now. Yesterday, I feel so enthusiastic in looking for a job abroad and hoping it would be possible to land a good job. I was so glad when Ms. Joan handed me a list of requirements I need to submit before I could take an examination.  She told me that it's much better to submit my lacking requirements  right away so that she could accommodate my application. I was informed that they have an urgent positions available and it's up to me if I'm interested. I stepped out of the building with a positive attitude in pursuing my laid plan into reality.

Earlier this day, I went to the office of one of my friends here in the workplace and she'd given me a sort of advice and shared with me some of her experiences during her employment abroad days. For her, it's much better for me to stay here in my present workplace than to venture into another journey abroad. I know she has a point when she told me that it's very hard to get a job nowadays and I  could be jobless after I came back from working abroad. I know our company is giving us benefits that other company don't have like  most especially the medical and educational benefits we have here. But I know deep inside my soul, I want to explore,  try and learn something new and take risks with the guidance of the Divine Hands. I don't want to live my whole life working so hard and be content in the comfort of my small cubicle but didn't grow  as what I wanted to be and never tried to step out of my comfort zone. Opportunity comes to those who seek and acknowledge God that there is always better way for me to grow and that's exactly what I'm doing. I don't want to live a life regretting the chances I've missed that's why my heart and mind kept on telling me that I should pursue it. But then I felt uneasy, a feeling of emotional roller coaster dawned on me as I  stepped out of her office and while walking back to our department's office.  Half of my mind and heart telling me to just stop for awhile and listen, weighing things down while the other half telling me to follow what I really wanted to do.

I was really grateful when I got a chance to have a chit chat online with Aieen  when I signed in at yahoo at that very moment when I needed someone to talk to. I listened to her very inspiring and awakening words of encouragement and enlightenment of what would be the very best decision I could ever make. First and foremost, I should ask God's will and guidance on my life. I should listen to what He says and have faith that whatever paths I choose to go, He is definitely be there for the rest of my journey. I have only to give my very best to do things and the rest is in His Mighty Hands.

A Prayer to Start a Day

I was feeling tired and weary a day ago after the stressful work schedule we had in our department.  In order to start the day with much energy and enthusiasm,  I had decided to look for a worklife prayer that would energize me when I'm feeling weary. I browsed the net and had found this special kind of prayer. I would pray it every day before doing my tasks.

Lord Jesus, as I enter this workplace, I bring Your presence with me.  I speak Your peace, Your grace and Your perfect order into the atmosphere of my workplace. I acknowledge Your Lordship over all that will be spoken, thought, decided and accomplished this day.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for the gifts and skills You have deposited in me. I do not take them lightly, but commit to using them responsibly and well. Give me a fresh supply of truth and beauty on which to draw as I do my job today. Bless my creativity, my ideas, my energy so that even my smallest task may bring You honor.

Lord, when I’m confused, guide me, when I’m weary, energize me. Lord, when I’m burned out, infuse me with the light of Your Holy Spirit. May the work I do and the way I do it bring hope, life and courage to all who I come into contact with today.

And oh Lord, even in this day’s most stressful moments, may I rest in You. In the name of Jesus, I pray.   Amen

I made a photo art embossed with this very nice prayer and had clicked as my desktop wallpaper.
